What's new in v1.4.0
April brings the biggest feature drop since launch — keep-in-touch reminders, two new import sources, a dedicated "Myself" contact, and a full preferences overhaul. Here's everything that shipped.
Keep in touch, on your terms
The most-requested feature is here. You can now set a follow-up frequency for any contact — weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually, or yearly. Bondery tracks when you last interacted and surfaces who's overdue so you never let a connection go cold.
- Pick a frequency on any person's page.
- The Keep-in-Touch page shows upcoming and overdue contacts at a glance.
- Log an interaction or mark complete directly from the list.
- Filter by look-ahead window (7, 30, or 90 days) to plan your week.
Instagram import
Already had your contacts on Instagram? Now you can bring them into Bondery. Export your data from Instagram as a ZIP, upload it, and Bondery handles the rest — followers, following, and close friends are parsed automatically. A built-in brand detector keeps business accounts separate so your contact list stays clean.
vCard import
For contacts stored in standard .vcf files — whether exported from Apple Contacts, Google, or Outlook — the new vCard importer does the heavy lifting. It supports geocoding, timezone enrichment, address validation, embedded photos, and important dates. Just drag and drop.
Meet "Myself"
Every new account now starts with a special Myself contact — a non-deletable card that represents you. Use it to store your own details, track your social links, and share a clean contact card with others.
User preferences
Settings got a major upgrade. You can now configure:
- Timezone — used for reminder scheduling and date display.
- Reminder send hour — choose when daily digests arrive.
- Time format — 12-hour or 24-hour.
- Color scheme — light, dark, or system.
- Profile photo — upload directly from account settings.
Extension version gating
The API now enforces a minimum Chrome extension version. If your extension is outdated, you'll see a clear upgrade prompt instead of mysterious errors.
