Getting started
This guide walks you through setting up your Bondery account and getting the most out of it from day one.
Create an account
Go to app.usebondery.com and sign up with your GitHub or LinkedIn account. Both options are available on the sign-in page.
Why no email and password? Bondery uses OAuth-only sign-in, meaning we never store your password. This means we cannot be breached for passwords, you benefit from your provider's two-factor authentication automatically, and you have one less credential to manage. Your chosen provider (GitHub or LinkedIn) handles all authentication.
Add your first contact
Once you're in, the first thing to do is add a person to your network.
- Click Add contact (or the + button in the People section)
- Fill in their name — everything else is optional
- Add any details you know: phone, email, social links, location, or a note
- Hit Save
You can always come back and add more details later. Even a name-only contact is useful.
Organize with groups
Groups let you segment your contacts into categories that make sense to you — "Close friends", "Work", "Family", or anything else.
- Go to Groups in the sidebar
- Click New group, give it a name and optionally an emoji or color
- Open any contact and assign them to one or more groups
Log an interaction
Bondery tracks when you last spoke to someone. After a call, meeting, or coffee, log it:
- Open a contact
- Go to their Interactions tab
- Click Add interaction, pick a type (call, meeting, coffee…), set the date, and save
The contact's Last interaction date updates automatically, making it easy to spot who you haven't been in touch with for a while.
Set a reminder
Never miss a birthday or anniversary again:
- Open a contact
- Go to the Reminders tab
- Click Add important date, choose the event type (birthday, anniversary, etc.), enter the date, and set how many days before you want to be notified
Bondery will send you a digest email on the right day. You can configure what time you receive reminders in your Account settings.
Import contacts
There are two ways to bulk-import contacts:
From LinkedIn or Instagram while browsing — use the Chrome Extension to capture a profile in one click as you visit it.
From a LinkedIn or Instagram data export — if you want to import your full contact list at once, go to Settings → Data management, click LinkedIn import or Instagram import, and follow the in-app guide from there.
What's next?
- Read about People, Myself, Groups, Interactions, and Reminders to understand what each concept can hold
- Set up the Chrome Extension or bulk import to add contacts faster
- Use the Mobile app for contacts on iOS and Android
- If you're a developer, see the API reference or the Contributing guide
